The Battle of Stones River was one of the bloodiest and most significant battles of the Civil War. The battle began on the last day of 1862, resulting in significant military and politcals gains for the Union. Although, the battle was inconclusive, it served to boost Union morale. The Stones River National Battlefield contains one of the nation's oldest intact Civil War monument, the Hazen Brigade Monument.

The park entrance is on the right.
