The John & Landon Carter Mansion

Elizabethton, TN

Built between 1775 and 1780 on land bought from the Cherokee. The oldest frame house in Tennessee reveals a finely detailed interior. 

Directions: Exit I-26 to Hwy. 67/327 to Elizabethton. At Jct. of U.S. 19 E., U.S. 321 and TN 67 take Broad St. extension for 1/4 mi. Mansion is on left.
