Tennessee operates 14 Welcome Centers and maintains brochures in 19 Rest Areas across the state. These facilities are open 24 hours a day 365 days a year except for I-40 Shelby County (Memphis) Welcome Center, which closes every evening.

Famous pool shark Minnesota Fats lived at the Hermitage Hotel in Nashville for eight years in the 1980s and early 1990s.
