Meeman-Shelby Forest State Park, a sprawling 14,000 acres of forestry just north of Downtown Memphis, has become a haven for West Tennessean neighbors and tourists alike. Whether for a quiet afternoon or a weekend vacation in the woods, visitors may choose between dozens of trails and pathways for nature-refined activities and Southern hospitality.

Prior to a hike, bike or night out camping, make a pit-stop at the Shelby Forest General Store, where you can purchase virtually anything from a disc and soda to candy bar and famous cheeseburger.

Home to two of the most iconic 18-hole disc golf courses in the region, Meeman-Shelby Forest Park's courses are crafted by the park's natural landscape, challenging and guiding players through towering trees, thickets and hills. An insiders' secret: Purchase a neon disc at the general store to minimize the chance of losing sight of discs in the forest!

If you're in search of a springtime getaway or low-maintenance family trip: Rent a two-bedroom vacation cabin along the Shore of Poplar Tree Lake, whose landscape calls for a sunrise fishing retreat or sunset grill-out. Larger campgrounds, on the other hand, allow for up to 50 well-kept microsites with grill, electrical and water hook-up features.

Meeman-Shelby is the ideal environment for exploring, offering an enrapturing range unlike any other in the area.
