Coker Creek

East Tennessee

Located adjacent to the Cherokee National Forest, Coker Creek, Tennessee, boasts beautiful scenery, a rich heritage and a plethora of recreational activities from which to choose. Hike to the beautiful Coker Creek Falls, a cascading waterfall at the end of a short hike that winds through the Coker Creek Scenic corridor, or challenge yourself to the much longer John Muir Trail, 20.7 miles of trail that winds along the north side of the Hiwassee River. Visit the Ironsburg Cemetery, home to several Civil War grave sites, or take a trip to the Wacocee Indian Village, once one of the largest Cherokee villages in the country. Fascinating history can be found at the Old Coker Creek Cemetery where markers date back to the 1700s, and the lucky few may find gold while panning in Coker Creek.
