On Sunday, November 4, at 1:00 p.m., Michael D. Doubler, the author of Dixie Dewdrop: The Uncle Dave Macon Story and the great-grandson of Uncle Dave, will give a presentation in the museum’s Performance Theater entitled “Uncle Dave Macon: Unknown Elements of Success.”  Mike will explain those key factors in Uncle Dave’s individual background, musical experience, personal attributes, and family setting which helped him to achieve stardom and sustained his career for over three decades. While many music fans know much about Uncle Dave’s professional career, almost nothing is known about these other, critical aspects of his life. Doubler’s talk will be followed by a book-signing of Dixie Dewdrop, essential reading for anyone who loves banjos, Uncle Dave, and good music!

For those wanting to learn more about Uncle Dave and the early roots of country music, this will be an event not to be missed!

This event is free and open to the public.

Michael D. Doubler is a native of Murfreesboro, Tennessee, and the great-grandson of Uncle Dave Macon. He has enjoyed a long career as a soldier, scholar, and author.
