Thursday, Sept. 14, & Friday, Sept. 15, 2917, hours each day 8 a.m. until 5 p.m.
The grounds of Historic Lairdland Farm House are transformed into a mid-19th century village each fall for the Living History weekendTicket includes the Civil War Museum filled with original, historic artifacts, clothing, military weaponry and equipment and numerous other Civil War-era pieces from the private collection of Lairdland Farm House owners, Don Rouleau and Bennita Rouleau. Antebellum Historic Lairdland Farm House and the accompanying Civil War museum in the Brick Church community of Giles County has welcomed area school groups as well as families and tourists more than a past decade as the 19th Alabama Civilian Corp re-enactors recreate daily life during the Civil War era wearing historically accurate costumes and using appropriate equipment.
“This is a family event that is both educational and entertaining,” said Bennita Rouleau, explaining that the 19th Alabama Civilian Corp Volunteers recreate daily life during the Civil War era wearing historically accurate costumes and using appropriate equipment throughout the weekend.
