The Unicoi County Apple Festival, held the first Friday and Saturday in October, spans more than four decades of fun, festivities and tradition for the Town of Erwin. The festival, with an annual estimated attendance of more than 110,000 attendees, spans a five-block section of Main Avenue with adjoining side streets. The two-day show features more than 350 craft and food vendors perfectly aligned along the busy streets. Everything from handmade woodcrafts to pottery, uniquely designed jewelry to natural soaps and lotions, and custom paintings and photography to custom-built furniture can be found each year. The festival also includes three entertainment stages featuring all day entertainment on each stage, a large children's area complete with rides and games, the annual Blue Ridge Pottery Show and Sale and numerous contests and tournaments including a four-mile road race, weeklong tennis tournament, cooking contest, photography contest and much more.
