The Great Backyard Bird Count is a citizen science project where people from around the world count birds for 15 minutes a day from February 17-20. The data you collect is used to assist researchers in tracking bird migrations and getting population counts of different species. In 2016, there were over 160,000 participants that helped count nearly 6,000 species of birds. Learn more about how to join the fun.
