Learn more about Quilt Turning for the Quilt Trail.
If you are a local history buff, a quilt lover, or just love a good story, you won't want to miss our annual Quilt Turning, held this year in the storytelling capital of the world! Come to our 4th annual special community storytelling, featuring the antique and heirloom quilts behind the Quilt Trail, and stories told by the quilt barn owners themselves! An enjoyable summer afternoon where you feel like family gathered to hear special stories and see quilts that you won't experience anywhere else. Every quilt has a story: of the heart that designed it, the hands that stitched it, and the family who was warmed underneath it.

What is a quilt turning, you ask?
Past events & photos:
A bed turning is a form of informal performance in a comfortable setting, where storytellers stack quilts on a large bed and then peel back the layers, as they peel back the layers of time. Everyone gathers around to enjoy the “turning”: hearing the stories behind the quilts, the quilt-makers, and the intricate handiwork stitched into them.
