Born in Tullahoma, Kristin Luna spent her early years exploring every corner of Tennessee, from summer vacations in the Smokies to family reunions at Paris Landing.
She graduated from the University of Tennessee in Knoxville and started her magazine career in New York City, working at Newsweek, Time Inc. and Conde Nast before adopting freelance status and moving to California for four years. But eventually, the South lured her back and she returned to the Nashville area.
A long-time journalist, Kristin has contributed to numerous publications, including Travel + Leisure, Southern Living, Afar, Glamour, PEOPLE, Entrepreneur, Forbes, Food Network, The Guardian and Redbook, and penned more than a dozen guidebooks for Frommer’s. In 2007, she launched her award-winning travel blog Camels & Chocolate, which chronicles her delicious adventures throughout the South and abroad.
Her interests include whiskey, yoga, eating everything, renovating her 1800s Victorian home with her husband and being outdoors.
