The district of private residences features
Colonial Revival, Folk Victorian, Bungalow
and Cottage residences constructed in the
early through mid-20th century. Magnolia
Hall is the exception: an 1840
residence in the Italianate Style, built by Campbell, who
started the first national bank to open in Middle
Tennessee after the Civil War. It features a cupola and widow’s walk,
uncommon architecture for the mid-South.
