Highly seasoned but not spicy, the Back to Cuba menu featured specialties like lechon (marinated roast pork), ropa vieja (seasoned beef stew), and pargo frito (fried red snapper), all served with black beans, rice and those delicious fried plantains, some sweet and some savory. The Cuban sandwich is a classic combination: ham, pork, cheese, pickles and mustard on buttered bread and cooked until deliciously gooey.
