Early Trace travelers paid Captain John Gordon to ride his ferry across the Duck River and for lodging at his 1817 home, preserved today by the National Park Service. Gordon was NashvilleÂ’s first postmaster and fought under Andrew Jackson in early battles for the Southern Territory. Public restrooms available.
