The town of LaGrange was occupied by Union forces, which used several extant buildings, from 1862 to the end of the war. The Immanuel Episcopal Church served as a hospital. Antebellum homes include the birthplace of Lucy Holcombe Pickens, the Queen of the Confederacy. A driving tour brochure is available.
