The 150 acres of the Old Forest Arboretum offers visitors and residents the opportunity to experience the original landscape and habitats of the Memphis area before West Tennessee was settled. Park Friends provide users with a self-guiding trail map and provides monthly hikes (except July and August) for all those interested in learning more about the trees. The arboretum is the home of the national champion Shumard Oak.
