River Place on the Clinch

Visit Our Site

Imagine...  You are comfy and cozy in a warm bed in a cabin tucked into the woods. The first sound you hear when you wake up is the ebbing and flowing Clinch River. A glance out the window reveals towering trees, lush ferms and native wildflowers. You can't see distant neon lights through a man-made clearing, you probably can't check e-mail on your phone, and you can't watch a blueray in a built-in theater room. What you can do is experience the scenic beauty and outdoor recreation opportunities of Kyles Ford, Tennessee, deemed "one of the last great places on earth" by the Nature Conservancy.

Food

Our motto is "fresh food, not fast food." Our cooks make food like your momma used to, so you'll love this taste of home. Or, if you haven't had country home cookin' this is a great place for your first taste. Some of our favorites are fried catfish with hushpuppies, homemade pies and desserts and our hand-patted burgers with home fries.

Cabins

Whether you are planning an anniversary getaway, a family vacation or a group retreat, River Place can accommodate you. Our low-impact cabins are nestled into the woods overlooking the river with a rustic feel, yet providing all modern conveniences to keep you comfortable. Linens, full kitchen and bath, satellite TV, porches with rocking chairs and heat and air conditioning come standard in our cabins and retreat center.

Canoe, Raft, Tube Rentals

River Place Outfitter offers daily rentals and shuttle service with advance reservation. Choose from canoes, funyaks, tube trackers, rafts and inner tubes. Get some exercise by paddling hard down the river, or simply enjoy a relaxing float and look at the beautiful scenery.

Live Music Weekends

Weekends at River Place are the most fun of all! If the river brings you down on a Friday or Saturday, you can listen to some great LIVE music on the porch or riverside stage! Every Friday is Steak Nite, with specials starting at 4pm and the sweet sounds of mandolins, fiddles, banjos and guitars starting at 6:30. During the summer months and early fall, we have music on Saturdays as well, with catfish dinners, frog legs and fried green tomatoes. Musicians from the region play country, bluegrass, rock, folk, and acoustic, and these nights always promise a good time.

Recreation & Nearby Things to Do

The visiting sportsman can enjoy fishing and hunting in season. Nature enthusiasts will also love the swimming, exploring, birdwatching, camping and more in the Clinch River valley. Nearby day trips include Elrod Falls, Natural Tunnel, Historic Rogersville and Melungeon heritage sites in Sneedville. The River Place outfitter has fishing poles, bait, tackle, camping gear, groceries and almost anything you need for your outdoor adventure!

Whether you stay for an hour, a day or a week, come on down to River Place. We would love to have you!
