New Attractions in East Tennessee

The Crayola Experience & NERF Action-Xperience – Pigeon Forge

Kids of all ages will love Hasbro’s new The Crayola Experience to Pigeon Forge’s family-friendly offerings in 2024. The 30,000 square foot entertainment center will allow you to name your own crayons, create wax art and your own coloring page. Hasbro will also be adding NERF Action Xperience, coming to Pigeon Forge in Fall 2024. The unique play center will have over 29,000 square feet of indoor entertainment for endless NERF fun including blaster battles, obstacle courses and more. Recharge in the food and beverage area and shop for new NERF products at the retail store. 

XPERIA: Ocean Journey – Sevierville

XPERIA: Ocean Journey in Sevierville combines innovative digital technology and immersive storytelling to take you on a journey to explore the ocean and interact with sea creatures – all without getting wet. The experience is part self-guided exploration, part hyper-real animal interactions and part cinematic spectacle. 

Wilderness at the Smokies - Sevierville

Wilderness at the Smokies is unveiling several new attractions in its recently expanded Wild WaterDome Waterpark. Crowd pleasers include the addition of a three-story water coaster called the Ridge Runner which is already open. It features three steep drops, uphill blasts, high speeds and the world's first slide with Reverse AquaLucent effects with colorful, spellbinding patterns. Guests will also want to check out Kaleidoscope Kavern Lazy River, created in partnership with Moment Factory. It is the first immersive lazy river in the world! When you enter it you are surrounded by a dreamlike universe made of beautiful projections, dynamic lighting and nature sounds inspired by not only the Smoky Mountain region but also our magical planet. Finally, on March 1, 2024, the resort’s new Lookout Lagoon roof top pool with a glass edge and Peak Rooftop Bar and Eatery with a live entertainment stage will open. It promises to be a great place to hang out and enjoy a beautiful view. Lodging wise, Wilderness at the Smokies is building six freestanding treehouse cabins, eight five-bedroom entertainment cabins and 14 four-bedroom cabins which will also be completed in 2024.

Tennessee Night Sky Trail – Northeast Tennessee

Be mesmerized by Northeast Tennessee’s skies when you follow the Tennessee Night Sky Trail full of spots to view celestial wonders. Enjoy nine curated areas to look up from panoramic vistas from mountains, beside serene lakes, at observation decks and in historic downtowns. Seasoned astronomers and wonder seekers will love experiencing these stargazing stops.

River to Clouds Route – Chattanooga

The River to Clouds Route is a new 34-mile trail system connecting Cloudland Canyon State Park to the Chattanooga Riverwalk in St. Elmo perfect for biking, trail running and hiking. You’ll encounter rocky technical sections, sweeping overlooks, mountain streams, waterfalls, hidden hollers and several historic sites. Follow the white and blue blazes with the RCR logo and, as always, practice Leave No Trace Principles.

Ijams Nature Center - Knoxville

In 2024, Ijams Nature Center builds on connecting us to nature with an ongoing development Master Plan that outlines key upgrades and new features. Among the plans includes improving accessibility in the Visitor Center, a new, accessible Canopy Walkway of the Ijams bluffs, entryway and road crossings, Miller Building, Homesite gardens and Mead's Quarry; infrastructure and facility improvements to meet increased visitation and use; and additional parking.

Kerns Food Hall – Knoxville

Built in 1932, the historic Kerns Bakery building is being reimagined into Kerns Food Hall bustling with culinary offerings from local chefs, unique goods from independent maker, central bar, rooftop patios and outdoor event lawn for games, music and more.

Skyline Loft at Ruby Falls - Chattanooga

Ruby Falls' new event venue, Skyline Loft is the newest addition to the Lookout Mountain attraction. Located on the rooftop of the historic Ruby Falls castle, Skyline Loft is a modern take on the castle's original rooftop garden. The event space is 3,500 square feet of customizable space, perfect for weddings, corporate events, family reunions and more. You'll enjoy stunning views of the Cumberland Plateau and the Tennessee River while celebrating life's moments.

New Attractions in and near Nashville 

Nashville Yards – Nashville

Nashville Yards is a new 19-acre entertainment mixed-use complex that will open throughout 2024. The property will have a 4,500-capacity concert hall which will open at the end of 2024 as well as a curated collection of food, beverage and shopping options along with a 12-screen cinema. Over 7 acres will include an open plaza and green space. 

Cannery Hall – Nashville

Cannery Hall, rich in history dating back more than 140 years, has been the bedrock of Nashville’s live music scene. The newly renovated hall will be one of the largest independent music venues in Nashville with three stages, new food and beverage menus and will host a wide variety of musical taste from rock, pop, EDM, hip hop, soul and more.

The Factory at Franklin – Franklin

What was once a stove factory, The Factory at Franklin is undergoing a significant renovation to include three live performance venues, several local restaurants and dozens of local shops. Turner Theatre is a new theatrical space for Studio Tenn Theatre Company, produced by Broadway star Patrick Cassidy. 

Riverview Square - Clarksville

A vibrant outdoor dining, shopping and social district is coming to downtown Clarksville in 2024. The more than 45,000-square-foot complex, Riverview Square will also include a new 156-room Doubletree by Hilton Clarksville Riverview. You'll be able to enjoy the multiple bars, shops, restaurants and entertainment venues.

New Attractions in Memphis

Discovery Forest at Lichterman Nature Center – Memphis

Set to open Spring 2024, the Museum of Science & History’s new addition to the Lichterman Nature Center – the Discovery Forest – will be an interactive and unstructured children’s play area created with natural materials, water and objects that shape the local landscape. The Discovery Forest will encourage children to form deeper connections with the wonders of nature. Features include a winding trail through existing woodlands that will lead to several different play and exploration zones in forest and garden areas.

South City Museum and Cultural Center – Memphis 

The new South City Museum and Cultural Center will celebrate South Memphis and its notable civic leaders, politicians, artists, athletes and entrepreneurs. It’s a place that will commemorate the past and celebrate the future, shining a light on one of the city’s oldest African American neighborhoods. The museum’s proposed opening is set for 2024.

The newly revitalized Tom Lee Park features a state-of-the-art themed playground, a fitness zone, Sunset Canopy for basketball, yoga and community events, concession stands, meditative walking paths and unrivaled views of the Mighty Mississippi.

Appalachia Ridge – Clinton

Appalachia Ridge will be located next door to the Museum of Appalachia (shown above). The pet-friendly luxury camping experience will have full hook up RV sites, glamping tents, tiny homes and tree houses for rent. It will be an expression of luxury while celebrating the heritage of the area.

Neal Creek Retreat – Belvidere

Nestled across 18 picturesque acres and about 104 miles from Nashville, Neal Creek Retreat is the perfect getaway offering yoga, concerts, outdoor games, family fun and options to explore nearby biking and kayaking options. You can rent The Farmhouse for family reunions or friend getaways. The house sleeps 10 guests and includes two private bedrooms with queen beds and a queen sofa bed downstairs with a private bedroom and bunkbeds on the second floor. Coming in 2024, Neal Creek will also have a cottage that sleeps two, perfect for a quiet couple's getaway. Reconnect while meandering the trails by day and enjoying the outdoor fireplace at night.

2024 New Restaurants in Tennessee

Elsie’s Daughter – Chattanooga

Located in the new Hotel Chalet at the Chattanooga Choo Choo, Elsie’s Daughter is a parlor designed with history in mind and serves up classic cocktails and French-Belgian cuisine with a nod to Appalachia.

Lilou - Knoxville 

Located in Cleo, Knoxville’s newest boutique hotel on Gay Street, the French brasserie Lilou will offer traditional fare along with an extensive wine list and cocktail program.

Old Glory Distilling’s Restaurant and Silo Park – Clarksville

The Restaurant and Silo Park will open in spring 2024 at Old Glory Distilling, adding to the experience with menu items featuring on-site made spirits, regular live music, yard games and a massive indoor/outdoor bar and seating area. 

Phillippe Chow – Nashville

World-renowned Chef Phillippe Chow brings his celebrated restaurant concept from New York to Nashville in 2024. The famous satays, lobster, filet mignon and peking duck will be instant favorites. More details will be announced in the coming months.

Amelia Gene’s – Memphis
