Located at the corner of Main and Beale Streets, the historic Orpheum Theatre is Memphis’ premier entertainment venue. The Orpheum has served its community as an Opera house, a vaudeville venue, and a first-run movie palace. Currently, The Orpheum Theatre presents touring Broadway productions, concerts, comedians, a Summer Movie Series, and special events year-round.

The Orpheum’s popular Broadway series brings 6 to 8 Tony Award-winning productions, classic musicals, and innovative new shows to Memphis each year. In 1996, The Orpheum underwent a major stage expansion to accommodate Broadway blockbusters like Phantom of the Opera, Wicked, Les Miserables, The Lion King, and Miss Saigon. Check the Orpheum website, www.orpheum-memphis.com, for a current list of The Orpheum’s upcoming productions.

Audiences clamor for The Orpheum’s annual Summer Movie Series. In honor of the Orpheum’s history as a former Malco movie palace, the Summer Movie Series brings classics, comedies, blockbuster hits, and sing-a-long movie musicals back to the big screen. Look for the full Summer Movie Series lineup to be announced by May of each year.

Throughout the year, The Orpheum hosts a wide range of exciting concerts, comedians, and special events. Recently, patrons have enjoyed performances from major artists like Johnny Mathis, Jerry Seinfeld, Fresh Beat Band, Tyler Perry productions, MGMT, Celtic Woman, Chris Tucker, Garrison Keillor’s A Prairie Home Companion, India.Arie, and the contestants of America’s Got Talent. For a truly unique Orpheum experience, The Orpheum also offers a Family Series, educational activities, and quarterly Dinners on Stage.
