Winter is a perfect time to curl up in idyllic Tennessee B&Bs or inns where warm beds and hot breakfasts, outdoor activities and beautiful scenery are endless. Take your winter vacation up a notch with a stay at one of these Middle Tennessee accommodations this winter.

Shelbyville is the perfect distance between Jack Daniel Distillery and George Dickel Distillery, not to mention Bell Buckle, Henry Horton State Park, and several other historic Middle Tennessee offerings. Make your base at the dreamy Lane Street Inn, which occupies a grand old Greek Revival mansion near the Tennessee Walking Horse Celebration grounds that the owners spent years lovingly restoring.
Let Emily and Eben Bryant pamper you for the weekend with the royal treatment—not to mention, a country breakfast spread each morning fit for a king. In addition to modern amenities like high-speed Wi-Fi, Netflix and gaming consoles, the 7,000-square-foot, three-acre inn boasts themed rooms in each of its five quarters, ranging from the Sammy Davis Jr. Room to a Western-style Sierra Room to the Asian-themed Serenity Room. A bonus for those traveling with pets: It's dog-friendly, too.
The Manor at Twin Oaks
663 Coleman Rd.
Murfreesboro, TN 37127
This stunner of a property in Murfreesboro was originally built in 1886 along Main Street by a former Civil War soldier for his bride, but when the home was at risk for being torn down to make way for Murfreesboro's rapid growth, Cindy and Doyle Boyd stepped in to the rescue.
Piece by piece, the Boyds relocated the seven parts comprising the 6,000-square-foot house over to a 125-acre farm on the outskirts of the city. It took a year to get it ready for removal and another year to put it all back together again, but the end result is Manor at Twin Oaks, a six-bedroom B&B that made its debut in 2011.
The Boyds vowed to maintain the home's authenticity, so they restored everything to its original state—including the molding, trim and doors—and furnished it with a tasteful mix of American and European antiques.
The grounds boast a bevy of wildlife, such as wild turkey and deer, and the couple also fixed up an old barn on the back of the property with six new rooms exclusively for weddings, family reunions, and other group events.
