Fizz Boutique's window displays lure you with an eclectic mix of international and local flair. The shop at 27 Market Square offers a quirky and enticing combination of fashions, handmade greeting cards, cameras, clever children's games, watches and myriad treasures. The array of window displays--often changing by the day--are a micro representation of the wealth of unique objects inside the boutique.
Utilizing connections she made while working in New York, shop owner Katherine Rouse stocks her space with most intriguing items. "I buy a lot of things from local designers and small factories so there's a lot of things that are just made by small people doing their own thing, whether they're in Knoxville or somewhere else around the world," says Rouse.
Fizz houses unusual pieces of jewelry from around the globe, as well as handmade creations crafted locally.
Hand-carved, organic jewelry—made by tribal people all over the world and fashioned out of coconut, hardwoods, seeds, shell, horn and bone—is a big hit. So are the Thai Hill Tribe silver, scarves from recycled cotton and an incredible riches of hair accessories.
Rouse hopes that customers will be pleased with the charm of each items's uniqueness and believes each of her guests "can find something that is rare and made with love and fine craft."
