Learn more about Metal Museum.
The only institution of its kind in the United States. Changing exhibits of the finest in historic and contemporary metalwork - jewelry, sculpture, architectural ironwork, and more. Working blacksmith shop and foundry. Sculpture garden and gazebo overlooking the Mississippi River. The Metal Museum offers classes and small workshops in blacksmithing, copper, jewelry, and aluminum casting. The campus includes three historic buildings: a 1930s building with galleries; an 1880s Library + Resource Center with over 3,000 items in the Permanent Collection; and a residence for metalworking apprentices. On the grounds there is a Smithy for blacksmiths to hammer, cut, and grind, a Foundry for melting and pouring metal into molds, and plenty of space for classes on basic forging and casting. Create your own metal art tile or take a "Taster" class at this one-of-a-kind fine art museum.
