The Newbern-Dyersburg Amtrak Station, located in Newbern, TN, is a flag stop on Amtrak's City of New Orleans route. Since this station is unmanned, passengers can get on or off the train, however, they cannot purchase tickets or obtain baggage services at this stop.

The station is located at the site of the former Illinois Central Railroad Depot, built in 1920, listed on the National Register of Historic Places (1993) as Newbern Illinois Central Depot. The former depot accommodated both passenger and freight services in a single one-story structure, in addition to a railroad business office. The old wooden depot building was replaced by a brick building in 1918 following a fire that destroyed the former structure. Next to the depot is a platform where bales of cotton were loaded off wagons and into railcars during the period when Newbern was known as the center for the ginning and shipment of cotton grown in nearby counties. However, in 1965 the Illinois Central passenger train service to this depot ceased, and the building became a storage unit. In 1990, the building was acquired by the city of Newbern and restored.

The building now houses the Amtrak stop and a small museum of railroad history that displays old photographs, railroad tools, uniforms, schedules, among other memorabilia. In September, the town celebrates annual Newbern "Depot Days" Festival.
