• Seasonal highlights: Roaring Fork Nature Trail is a beautiful drive full of stop-offs that lead to old-growth forest, well-preserved log cabins and gristmills and waterfalls. Dive into the history and spend some time in quiet nature this fall. Cades Cove is an old pioneer settlement from the 1800s. The 11-mile, self-guided driving loop take you through the trees of the 6,000 acres of untouched frontier so you can experience the fall colors just as the pioneers did more than 200 years ago.

The nature center & aviary as well as the visitor center are accessible facilities. Cabins 1 and 20 are wheelchair-friendly, but are currently closed for renovations.
