Standing on the original site of Stax Records, the Stax Museum of American Soul Music immerses visitors in the birthplace of Southern soul. Exhibits celebrate legendary artists like Otis Redding, Isaac Hayes, Booker T. & the M.G.’s and Carla Thomas, who helped define a genre rooted in emotion and authenticity. From the re-created Studio A to Isaac Hayes’ gold-trimmed Cadillac, the museum captures the heart and history of soul.
