Cumberland Caverns

City: McMinnville, TN
Region: Middle Tennessee

Discover Natural Beauty. Cumberland Caverns is Tennessee's largest show cave and a U.S. National Natural Landmark. The cave displays some of the largest underground rooms and most spectacular formations in America. The daily scenic walking tour features waterfalls, gleaming pools, and a historic 1812 saltpeter mine. Every tour also is highlighted by the original underground pageant of light and sound, "God of the Mountain," an awe-inspiring retelling of the creation.

Discover Family Fun. Cumberland Caverns offers tours every day from 9:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. Special tours are offered for schools, scouts, youth groups and bus tours throughout the year. Our Underground Ballroom features a unique and beautiful 3/4-ton crystal chandelier. The Ballroom seats 400 and is available for banquets, weddings, birthday parties, catered meals, and corporate events.

Discover Adventure on one of our daytime or overnight Spelunking Adventure Trips. First-time spelunkers will get a taste of the untamed-underground and experienced cavers will be impressed by the challenges. Tight squeezes, cave crawling, and ladders-in-the-caverns will make this an adventure you will be able to brag about. For the ultimate “Spelunk-Tacular” Adventure, try an overnight camping trip inside the cave. Spend the night crawling, climbing, squeezing and squishing through amazing sights and spectacular rooms. These Adventures are unique team-building experiences for youth group leaders, business managers, schools, churches, or other clubs & organizations.

Situated just off of Hwy. 8, six miles southeast of McMinnville. Cumberland Caverns can also be reached via Hwy 70S, Hwy 111, or Hwy 56 between Nashville and Knoxville off I-40 or via Hwy 55 from I-24 at Manchester between Nashville and Chattanooga.
