One of Tennessee's perfect road trips is to take Route 1 and travel leisurely from Memphis to Bristol. You'll experience the music, history, people and food that make Tennessee so special. With this blog, we continue celebrating 100 years of Tennessee's historic Route 1 with 41-60 of 100 must-see stops along the 538.8-mile highway.
Today, we take you from Nashville to Sparta. Route 1 was the original east-west corridor through Tennessee before Interstate 40 was finished in the 1960s.
It's time to get off the interstate and discover the off-the-beaten-path treasures of Tennessee. Do you have favorite stops along Route 1, which also was part of the Broadway of America Highway from California to New York?
