Perched on a scenic bluff overlooking the Cumberland River, the Smith-Trahern Mansion has stood as a symbol of Clarksville’s rich heritage since 1859. Built for Christopher H. Smith, this elegant home blends Greek Revival and Italianate architecture, with many original features still intact.
One of the few pre-Civil War homes remaining in Clarksville, the mansion has witnessed over 160 years of local history. In recognition of its cultural and architectural significance, it was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1988.
Please Note:
The mansion is currently closed for renovations, with plans to reopen in 2025 or 2026.
