Historic Lairdland Farm House in the Brick Church community of Giles County
After several years of major restoration work, in May 2005 the owners were awarded a Certificate of Merit by the Tennessee Historical Commission for preservation and restoration of the historic property.
Visitors will see antiques and collectables from around the world in beautifully appointed, period-decorated rooms. During warmer months, guests will explore the grounds and gardens. This property is open for tours by appointment only.
The grounds include a Victorian Traveller's Cottage, a 19th century smoke house, a courtyard garden and a designated small wildlife habitat.
“We feel fortunate to live in a place filled with so much history,” owners Bennita and Don Rouleau said. “We decided to open the home, grounds and museum to the public year round and to host a series of events throughout the year so people of all ages could experience history.”
Tours are held by prearrangement by calling 931-363-2205. Individuals and groups welcome. Family-friendly. Prefect for school field trips, clubs, organizations and families.
The state designated Lairdland's Civil War Museum as an official stop along the Tennessee Civil War Trail.
