Cherokee Lake offers many wonderful recreational actives such as fishing, camping, picnicking, swimming, boating, and much more.   With more than 463 miles of shoreline, this 30,000 acre lake offers beautiful scenery surrounded by rolling hills, and a peaceful country landscape. 

Cherokee Lake was formed in 1942 after TVA built the Cherokee Dam on the Holston River in order to generate electricity during World War II.

To the northwest of Cherokee Lake, you will see the Clinch Mountain Range. There is a breathtaking view of Cherokee Lake from the summit of Clinch Mountain, located off of HWY 25E.
