Jonesborough's Town Tours take visitors on a storied journey of Main Street. Costumed guides will share with you the history of the buildings and the people who made their lives within. Take a walking tour at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday in March-April and November-December. Additional tours will be available at 1:00 p.m. on Fridays in May-October. Tickets are only $5.00 per person and can be purchased directly at the Chester Inn State Historic Site and Museum on Main Street. Tours will depart from the Museum and costumed guides will lead guests on an hour long journey. From May-September, an additional tour will be offered on Thursday evenings at 7:00 p.m. There’s never a bad time of day to tour Tennessee’s Oldest Town.
You can also put your history detective skills to use the fist and second Saturdays of the month with the Jonesborough Mythbusting Tour. Think you can separate the myths from the facts? Take the Mythbusting tour from April-December at 1:00 p.m. the 1st Saturday of the month and 2:30 p.m. the 2nd Saturday of the month.
New this year, the Railroad Tour is a unique opportunity to travel on the back side of Main Street and learn about the rich history of the railroad in East Tennessee. This tour ends at the Chuckey Depot Museum, located in the 1906 Chuckey Railroad Depot. Take this tour at 2:30 p.m. the 4th Saturday of the month.
