Morristown’s National Register Historic District is the home of the only overhead sidewalk system in the United States. The street level is lined with many antique, specialty, and clothing boutiques in addition to outstanding eateries and a taproom/brewery. The Morristown farmers market is located within the district. The First Fridays concert series is held on the first Friday of the months May through October at the Downtown Green event space adjacent to the Morristown farmer's market pavilion. The popular Morristown Bluegrass Festival is also held at the Downtown Green on the 1st Saturday in May. The historic Rose Center and Hamblen County Courthouse are also located within the district as is the Sherwood Commons shopping area.
