It started out as a walk through the woods during a beautiful spring day when the Mountain Laurel were blooming.  After that an idea was born!  We felt we had something so special and beautiful that people might want to come and visit and stay awhile.

What better way to showcase our beautiful county than to invite visitors to a special event  hosted by the Morgan County Tourism Alliance.

This was 2014 and the Morgan County Tourism Alliance formed a committee to  have a "Mountain Laurel Walk" on the 3rd Saturday of May 2015.  By that date, we had changed our theme to "Morgan County Mountain Laurel Festival!

A great start to an event that in 2016 has become "The Tennessee Mountian Laurel Festival"  the 3rd Saturday in May.  The next Festival Day is on Saturday, May 18, 2019 where we will be celebrating our 5th Anniversary.  We continue with all the favorite activities:  live music, food, vendors, car show, demonstrations, BBQ contest and more!  New this year will be:  Wine tasting, carriage rides, diy tee shirt screenprinting, just to name a few.  For the first time, we will be have a free outdoor concert on Friday night before the festival and fireworks after, sponsored by Brushy Mountain Group.  Please check our website and events on tnvacation for updates.
