Born in Pulaski, Tennessee, David Wills charted 21 records between 1974 and 1988. He also co-wrote hits for Garth Brooks, George Strait, Martina McBride, Patty Loveless, Janie Fricke and Toby Keith. Garth Brooks' second album, "No Fences," included Wills' penned "Wild Horses." Re-released 10 years later, the song became a No. 7 country hit. The album is diamond-certified, equating to 10 million copies sold.
After learning about Wills and his shining career, explore Pulaski where you'll find the famous Milky Way Farm, built by Frank Mars of of The Mar-O-Bar Company behind beloved candy like the Milky Way, Snickers and Three Musketeer candy bars. You can tour the manor house which has 25 bedrooms and a dining room table that seats 40 guets, the barns, trails and more. Sip a variety of wines from the locally owned winery and vineyard at Big Creek Winery. Red muscadine, Niagara White, Norton Grape and Chambercin are available for tasting, grown from Big Creek's vineyard. The orchard wine list features white peach, apple, blackberry, blueberry, cranberry and peach selections. You take a tour, taste all of the wines and choose your favorites noon to 5 p.m. Mondays to Saturdays and 1-5 p.m. Sundays.
