Hattie Louise "Tootsie" Bess was the proprietor of the legendary Tootsie's Orchid Lounge from 1960-1978 on Nashville's Lower Broadway. Under her leadership, Tootsie's became a gathering place for country musicians and songwriters including Charley Pride, Kris Kristofferson, Roger Miller, Willie Nelson and many more.
Tootsie's is now a focal point of Nashville's Lower Broadway.
