From the fresh buttermilk biscuits for breakfast to the meat-and-two lunches and the cherry smoke ribs, chicken and flaky catfish at dinner, Puckett's at Leiper's Fork is what former owner Andy Marshall calls a "restaurant pretending to be a grocery store." Founded by the Puckett family in the 1950s, it served as a general store, gas station, neighborhood hangout and restaurant.
Today, the award-winning food is just hte beginning. People who stop by to pick and sing (and enjoy the food) include quite a few big names in the music business: Keb Mo, Rodney Crowell, Tanya Tucker and others.
Puckett's has now expanded to include locations in Columbia, Franklin and downtown Nashville, a food truck (The Trolley) and a seafood spot, The Boathouse. In 2008, Marshall sold the Leiper's Fork location to Rob and Shanel Robinson, who continue to bring the food and the music to locals and tourists alike.
Reservations accepted for weekend performances.
